On Sunday, I went for the DOW Live Earth Run for Water event.
It was a marathon, or maybe a half-marathon.
Basically we had to run 6km because that is the average distance a person has to travel to get to the closest source of clean water in developing countries.
Then you must be thinking, why not shift closer to the water source?
But things are not as simple as that.
Arrived there at about 7:15.
At 7:30, Electrico started playing a few songs for fun.
And since there was music, I was thinking that there would be a mass dance after that.
Since it was an "event".
But then it wasn't a "school event".
Wow I really miss mass dance.
There were basically 3 sections that we have to split ourselves into.
Less than 35 mins, less than 45 mins and more than 45 mins.
I went to the >45mins section because I knew I couldn't run that fast.
It started at 8pm.
Run run run.
Everyone was running.
1km mark, it seems alright.
Run run run.
Shit, so damn tired, where is the 2km mark?!?!
It gets more and more tiring.
Had a water station at 4km.
After that it did not seem as exhaustive as between 1km and 2km, but it wasn't easy like the first km.
It is as though your brain just switches off.
You feel numb to the tiredness.
You feel tired, but you just run.
Run run run.
Ran the whole 6km.
Finally reached the end.
Timing: 44:26 minutes!
Yay!!
I got into the second band!!
Received this really cool medal thing.
And got a bottle of cold water.
Cold water is so divine after a run!
Electrico concert.
Well, it wasn't Boys Like Girls like the marathon a year or two ago which I sadly didn't go for, but I guess they are good if you are talking about Singapore bands.
Went home and felt extremely fulfilled.
